As you can see, you can craft some really nice typographic arrangements from it all. It does take a little perseverance with the coding side of it (unless you're an absolute coding maestro, in which case you're probably all over this) but there are some great tutorials out there for getting a good looking result.

Recently downloaded and set up GeekTools. It's a program for Mac that displays system data on your desktop as text, which doesn't sound particularly useful until you realise that you can use AppleScript to create custom data layouts. At this stage I've got mine to display what's playing in iTunes, the current temperature and weather conditions, and a desktop calendar.
